Violet Mays

Violet Mays was born on May 23, 1939 in Verda, Kentucky to Lucious and Rosa Lee Mays, whom both preceded her in death. Also, her husband of 50 plus years, Isaiah Mays preceded her in death and her son, Rodney Mays preceded her in death. 

Violet graduated from Rosenwald Harlanites High School and continued her education at Crane Business College and graduated with a degree in business. Afterwards she served 31 years as a Finance Clerk with the United States Post Office. She confessed Christ at an early age. She joined Living Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend James F. Jordan, where she served until death.

Violet answered the call to be at home with the Lord on April 26, 2020.

Violet lived a blessed life. She was an outstanding woman of God, the greatest mother/grandmother/great grandmother and sister. She loved her children and promoted good education and higher education. She was constantly leading our family and others to Christ.

She will be truly missed by all! Rest in peace Lil Ole Momma, rest in peace!
