Ronald D. Hunter Sr. known to many as "Rome", was born August 14, 1951 in Louisville, Mississippi to Margaret Louis and Cleo Hunter. His mother and father preceded him in death.
Rome was the eldest of nine siblings: Joe Jr., Vincent and Ruby, whom all preceded him in death.
Rome accepted Christ at an early age where he attended church with his mother Margaret faithfully.
Rome migrated to Chicago, Illinois at an early age and received his education at Forestville Elementary School and Wendell Phillips High School.
Rome met and had a beautiful relationship with Patricia Hill (Pat) in which three children were born: his oldest son, Ronald Hunter Jr., preceded him in death.
Rome worked at McCormick Place where he served as a Steward, but was a jack of all trades and a hustler. He always found different ways to support himself. Rome loved to cook and would feed any and every one that he encountered. He was a man with a hard exterior to some, but also a gentle giant. Rome loved his family unconditionally and had no problem showing it. He took pride in being the "oldest brother." Rome loved listening to "Blues & Dusty music." Some of his favorite artists were Bobby Blue Band, Johnny Taylor and a host of other artists. Rome will definitely be missed.
God called Rome home on Sunday, April 5, 2020.
