Ollie Wickers

Ollie Phine Wickers was born on March 31, 1941 to the late Wallace and Iolia Norris. She was raised in Silver City Mississippi before heading off to the big city of Chicago after she turned 18.  

Ollie’s professional occupation included working as an Anesthesia Aid at Chicago’s Children Memorial Hospital where she was there for over 30yrs before she retired, and she was a member of West Pullman Church of God.  

               Ollie peacefully departed this life on June 24, 2021, surrounded by her family telling stories, looking at pictures and remembering the women she was. Ollie would light up the room where she would go. She was always smiling, laughing and willing to help anyone she could. Anyone who knew Ollie knew she loved flowers and gardening. Currently her home church still has flowers blooming that she planted, well over 10yrs ago.  

Ollie is preceded in death by her Husband, Donald Wickers Sr., her Mother and Father, Wallace and Iola Norris, her grandson Keyan Wickers and granddaughter Dedria Wickers.  

               Ollie was a loving Mother, grandmother, sister, Aunt, and friend to all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory her 4 children Donald Jr. (Phyllis), Anthony (Dwina), Keith (Claudette) and Kennith (Heather); 10 grand-kids, Kennedy, Kamaris, Keith Jr., Kurtis, Kisaiah, Kalijah, Kendria, Kayara, Kendrick and Kaniyah.  

               Ollie’s joyfulness, sense of humor, warmth, and love will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
