Michael A. Cheers was born December 25th 1955 to the union of Ella and Loveless Cheers both of whom preceded him in death. Michael was also preceded in death by his common law wife Vera, his brother Loveless Jr., sister Carol and his longtime friend and confidant Reverend Bernard Clark.
Michael accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. He was a faithful member of New Light Evangelical Baptist Church where he chose to worship under the leadership of the late Pastor Willie Randolph until Pastor Randolph's health failed him.
Michael attended Wendell Phillips High School. He worked in the customer service for many years and was known for his candor and willingness to help others, to know him was to love him. Playing softball was one of Michael's most enjoyable pleasures. He was always the life of the party in any setting and was known for his comedic personality, often purging a good laugh out of you. Bringing laughter out of others brought him joy, and seeing a smile on their face would bring him even more joy. Michael loved to talk a lot of trash and knew how to get you back in line if you needed to be straightened out.
