Mark Montgomery

Mark Lydel Montgomery Sr. was born on March 3, 1965 to the union of Edward Lee Montgomery Sr. and Annie Pearl Yates- Montgomery who preceded him in death. Mark attended Dewey Elementary School and John Hope Middle School. He furthered his education at Tilden Technical High School. On May 21, 2000 Mark received his Business Management certification in Commercial Custodial Services at Carl Sandburg College. On July 31, 2007 he received his Associates Degree in Liberal Studies at Lake Land College.

Marl accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at a young age. He attended the Neighborhood Missionary Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Carrie Mason along with his brothers and sisters. His brother, Edward Lee Montgomery Jr, who preceded him in death, his sister Valerie who preceded him in death, his sister Joyce and brother, Charles.

Mark was well known and loved by everyone who knew him. Mark loved his family and often spoke of his favorite aunt, Corene Mills "Aunt Sis" who also preceded him in death.

On June 28, 2001 Mark was united in holy matrimony to Nina Marie Pointer and they raised their son, Marlon.

Mark became a member of Mount Bible Church in 2014 and Became the Armor Bearer for Pastor Byron E. Whitehead.
