Shelby Lidell Sr

Shelby Lidell Sr. was born on December 14, 1931 in Grenada, Mississippi. He was one of 24 children born to the union of Robert and Clara Lidell. He came to Chicago at an early age, where he indulged in his love for music. Shelby started his own band, known as Shelby's Combo, in which he loved to play the guitar.

In 1957, Shelby met and fell in love with, Lillian Heart. They married on June 16, 1959 and to this special union 3 children: Shellise, Steven and Shelby Jr. were born. Family was his pride and joy. Shelby loved his children and his grandchildren. He worked hard to provide the best for them and was a strong example in their lives.

Shelby worked at Holsum Bakery for 45 years. After his dedicated service he went on to retire and enjoy the fruits of his labor. on November 8, 2019, Shelby Lidell closed his eyes to rest only to make his peaceful transition to be with the Lord. He was 87 years old. Shelby is preceded in death by his wife Lillian, his son Shelby Jr., his parents and siblings.
